Amen, brother. I got National Board Certification in December, and those experts actually tell us to work with students in creative ways and teach them thinking skills that can’t be tested! Luckily for me, my principal pretty much leaves me alone and lets me do my job. I’ve known lots of teachers who work in schools where their methods are questioned, ridiculed, and outlawed. In favor, of course, of cookie-cutter lesson plans and teaching only to the test.
